We decided that the Ripper needed a little more Landyachtz love, so we stacked up some letters and ended up with the Ripper Logo graphic. Who knows where else we might use this graphic, but we know it looks sweet on the Ripper and the colorway is a straight up vibe that we hope everyone enjoys! The Ripper is a great board for getting around town, throwing down some sweet manuals, busting some slides or just cruising the neighborhood with some friends.

100% Canadian Maple

Canadian Maple is a strong and proven material used in the world’s best skateboards. We source only the finest veneers found in Eastern Canada.

Kicktail

Take your skating into the third dimension with a kicktail. We design our kicktails to work perfectly with each deck shape as well as with the truck and wheel setup on each complete.

MEDIUM CAVE

The perfect middle ground, enough concave that you always feel glued to your board, but not too much to hurt your feet during a longer cruise.

ROCKER

Rocker provides a more comfortable foot platform by adjusting the deck angles to a skater’s natural stance. It also adds board control and increases responsiveness under your feet.

SANDED WHEEL WELLS

Wheel wells reduce the risk of wheel-bite by increasing the gap between wheels and deck. Sanded or CNC’d wheel wells both allow for larger wheels or looser trucks, if desired.

The Ripper shares a similar concept to the Dipper; It’s great for carving, cruising, commuting long distances, feels great for sliding and has a nice bouncy flex. This board is a little bit wider compared to the Dipper and we went with slightly wider truck options to follow suit. The 9” width and subtle taper means that the Ripper has a lot of standing platform which gives your feet a lot of purchase making it quite comfortable for sliding. The larger standing platform in conjunction with the wider trucks give good stability and leverage. Lean deep into your turns on this board and enjoy nice long carves. The measurements are a 36.9” length with a wheelbase of 24.9”. The Ripper comes complete with Polar Bear 130mm trucks for a nice low ride perfect for relaxing cruises, and 63mm Fatty Hawgs wheels to keep you rolling smooth and fast over all types of surfaces.

Flex Rating

So, what’s flex and why is it important to a skateboard? In skate-nerd terms, flex is the amount of displacement a deck sees when a specific amount of force is applied to it. Check out our formula to the left! There are a few factors that affect flex, like deck thickness, wheelbase, and the amount of force on a deck. We built a machine and put our entire lineup to the test by applying the exact same amount of force to all our boards and measured the displacement we saw in each. This gives a totally scientific and accurate flex range across our entire line! It’s important to understand flex when choosing a board. Here are some basics: Downhill/freeride skateboards will have less flex because you need a stiff platform to stand on when you’re bombing or gripping a corner at speed. Carving skateboards will have more flex, giving you the ability to sink into your turns and pump or carve with ease. Most cruisers, dance and ATV boards will have less flex for control when doing tricks but just enough to be forgiving when pushing around town. We’ve engineered our boards with the best flex for each style of riding but remember, flex is subjective so get out a see what you like the most!

Long Boi

This is great for cruising around. It’s got a nice little flex, so you can really lean into turns. It’s a good medium between popsicle and longboard - I can weave around objects easily, the kick tail has enough pop to get up and down curbs if I have to, and it floats along flat ground with ease.

Amazing board

This was my first top mount board and (since before I’ve only skated drop throughs) it was very easy to get used to. The board carves well, and keeps speed pretty well too. The fatty hawgs ride over everything on my college campus while the bear trucks make it a smooth ride. It’s a very fun board to rip around. Not bad for basic tricks either with the kicktail.

Good option for older skaters

I used to skate as a teenager but hadn’t stepped on a board in 20 years. Needless to say I was a little concerned about how squirrelly some of these cruisers seemed. That being said, the size of the ripper and the kick tail gave me confidence that I could handle this board even with the narrower trucks. When my board arrived it was ready to go out of the box which was awesome. I immediately took it out for a test and was pleasantly surprised with how at home I felt on it. The size of the board makes it stable when needed and the design of it allows you to get that classic cruiser flow if desired. Overall I’ve had a great time getting back into skating with the ripper and am glad I gave it a try. Super fun board to ride!
