100% Canadian Maple

Canadian Maple is a strong and proven material used in the world’s best skateboards. We source only the finest veneers found in Eastern Canada.

DEEP CAVE

Concave designed to really lock your feet in while adding responsiveness and control.

Kicktail

Take your skating into the third dimension with a kicktail. We design our kicktails to work perfectly with each deck shape as well as with the truck and wheel setup on each complete.

MULTI WHEELBASE

Precisely dial in your ride with multiple mounting options for your trucks.

PRE-CURED FIBERGLASS

Fiberglass is a lightweight yet extremely resilient material, used to either add extra stiffness to a solid maple board, or replace some maple plys and provide a snappy flex to a thinner flexy board.

Fenders

Also known as pressed wheel wells, flares are part of the board shape. The resulting bumps in the concave on top allow for larger wheels, looser trucks, and provide better control and more precise foot placement.

The Freedive is a stiff, high performance downhill board that is 36.8” long by 9.6” wide with variable wheelbases from 23 to 23.5”. It features subtle micro drops and wheel flares to keep your feet planted over the trucks and flushmounts to keep the ride height where it needs to be and your trucks running flat. It is pressed in Kimberley, BC from 7 plies of Canadian Maple and 2 plies of fiberglass for extra torsional stiffness and durability. We set up these completes with 155mm Gen 6 Grizzlies on 40 degree baseplates for a confident, stable ride, as well as 70mm 78a Supremes for super smooth slides with just enough grip.

Great board for free ride and downhill

Nice subtle micro drops, solid build, love the kick tail. I kind of wish it was symmetrical up to the tail (that would make it a real quiver killer) but it honestly has the sickest looking shape. All my friends think it looks cool sk huge points there. I use ez hawgs and I actually love the ride with the 140mm kodiaks although I alternate with my 155mms

Big ol board

Super fun board. Big and heavy. The micro drop in the back is perfect, but the one in the front is in a weird place. Past the trucks. Super divey with 40 degree bear gen 6 trucks. I get a bit of wheelbite with the 70 mm supremes so I went with 66mm snakes, and put on 4 degree kiro risers, and that seems to have fixed it.

Beautifully made, and great to ride!

Surprisingly nimble for a longboard, and with plenty of stiffness - great for a big lad like me! If you are on the tubby side, you may want to tighten the trucks a bit if you don't like your ride ultra-twitchy.

Not a hint of wheel-bite, thanks to the board's cut-outs etc. and rolls over most pavement debris painlessly.

Great Freeride with Manufacturing Flaw

I’m happy with the performance of the board but the quality is below average and less than I’d expect from Landyachtz. My Freedive Reef came with a blemish that I’m certain resulted from improper application of the fibreglass. After reaching out through chat I had determined that it would not be worth the money to ship back to Landyachtz for an exchange. To be frank, whoever I chatted with was kind of rude and not very helpful. Other companies such as Zenit wouldn’t sell a board with a manufacturing defect at full price.

As for performance, it’s stiff and the design is great for freeriding and very good for downhill. The taper towards the end really helps minimize how much you need to move your foot for proper placement to initiate slides. The kick tail is not very functional but is useful if you are an advanced rider. I have mine setup as follows:

- 165mm 50* Paris Savants

- Venom barrel bushing, 93a boardside, 90a roadside

- Zealous ceramic bearings

- 1/4” riser in the front, wedge in the back (trucks are 43* with wedge) - with the Paris trucks you do not need risers to avoid wheel bite (with ~70mm wheels) but use this setup for more stability downhill

- 70mm 83a Orangatang Stimulus Wheels for freeride

- 72mm 78a Plow Kings for downhill

Based on the quality of the board I received relative to the price, I would not recommend this board. I would instead recommend something comparable from Prism, Zenit or Pantheon in the same or even cheaper price range. Three stars for…
