One Board One Tree

To give back to the environment we have decided that for every skateboard we sell, we plant a tree. One tree produces at least 60 boards. So with our program, one tree will turn into at least 60 new trees planted.

100% Canadian Maple

Canadian Maple is a strong and proven material used in the world’s best skateboards. We source only the finest veneers found in Eastern Canada.

DROP THROUGH

Drop through decks are lower to the ground and enjoy increase stability without sacrificing maneuverability.

LOW CAVE

Mellow concave that barely feels like it’s there, but designed to give you the control you need, when you need it.

ROCKER

Rocker provides a more comfortable foot platform by adjusting the deck angles to a skater’s natural stance. It also adds board control and increases responsiveness under your feet.

SYMMETRICAL

Go both ways with symmetrical board design. Generally found in freeride and downhill decks, these boards allow the rider to skate both regular and switch without changing up their stance.

The Drop Hammer is a symmetrical drop-through longboard measuring 36.5" long and 10" wide. Its low ride height makes it an ideal city commuter and its medium concave and reasonably stiff construction make it a perfect board for an introduction to freeriding and carving on bigger hills. The Drop Hammer has been modified slightly for 2020 to work with the new Grizzly Gen 6 180mm trucks for maximum turning and super deep carves. 69mm 78a Hawgs finish the set up off for super smooth slides.

Flex Rating

So, what’s flex and why is it important to a skateboard? In skate-nerd terms, flex is the amount of displacement a deck sees when a specific amount of force is applied to it. Check out our formula to the left! There are a few factors that affect flex, like deck thickness, wheelbase, and the amount of force on a deck. We built a machine and put our entire lineup to the test by applying the exact same amount of force to all our boards and measured the displacement we saw in each. This gives a totally scientific and accurate flex range across our entire line! It’s important to understand flex when choosing a board. Here are some basics: Downhill/freeride skateboards will have less flex because you need a stiff platform to stand on when you’re bombing or gripping a corner at speed. Carving skateboards will have more flex, giving you the ability to sink into your turns and pump or carve with ease. Most cruisers, dance and ATV boards will have less flex for control when doing tricks but just enough to be forgiving when pushing around town. We’ve engineered our boards with the best flex for each style of riding but remember, flex is subjective so get out a see what you like the most!

Beginner-friendly board!

This board is very stable and fun to ride! As a first time longboarder (but with some experience snowboarding), I was amazed at how easy it was to start carving with confidence.

It's a great board. Well made and rides really well, although I have only used it in the house!

My First Longboard

I'm an older guy (47) getting back on the board after a long hiatus. I was searching for a quality longboard to cruise parking lots with to help ease back into skating and to build up my confidence/balance on a board. I knew next to nothing about Landyachtz as a company or if their products were legit. To be 100% honest, the Black Pinecone graphic was what originally drew me to this complete. I read a few reviews and skimmed over the About Us page and I felt confident making my purchase.

I have been skating the Drop Hammer Black Pinecone for roughly a month now. Doing my best to squeeze in three sessions a week. I'm completely happy with my purchase and I feel very fortunate to have blindly lucked up and guessed correctly on a quality build.

The deck is light and springy. The concave is very mellow. Because of this, I have been able to quickly pick up carving with ease. The wide deck promotes confidence and balance on the board and I have even started pushing switch with amazing results. The trucks and wheels are top-notch and I have been having a blast bombing the few mild fifty-yard slopes at my regular spot. I haven't graduated up to any cool slides or drifts just yet, but I'm feeling more confident after every session and I feel a gnarly slide is within my wheelhouse very soon.

Highly recommended!
