One Board One Tree

To give back to the environment we have decided that for every skateboard we sell, we plant a tree. One tree produces at least 60 boards. So with our program, one tree will turn into at least 60 new trees planted.

100% Canadian Maple

Canadian Maple is a strong and proven material used in the world’s best skateboards. We source only the finest veneers found in Eastern Canada.

DROP THROUGH

Drop through decks are lower to the ground and enjoy increase stability without sacrificing maneuverability.

MEDIUM CAVE

The perfect middle ground, enough concave that you always feel glued to your board, but not too much to hurt your feet during a longer cruise.

ROCKER

Rocker provides a more comfortable foot platform by adjusting the deck angles to a skater’s natural stance. It also adds board control and increases responsiveness under your feet.

The Battle Axe Paper Tiger is a drop through longboard that measures 38″ long by 9.4″ wide at the front with a significant taper towards the rear. Its 8 ply maple construction gives it a moderate amount of flex which, combined with its super low ride height and mellow concave, makes it a very stable platform ideal for beginners or riders looking for a fast, comfortable board to commute on. The Battle Axe comes equipped with our flagship 50 degree 180mm grizzly Gen 6 trucks ideal for deep carves and confident cruising. The wheels are 69mm 78a Hawgs that will keep you rolling fast, gripping hard and cruising over everything in your path.

Flex Rating

So, what’s flex and why is it important to a skateboard? In skate-nerd terms, flex is the amount of displacement a deck sees when a specific amount of force is applied to it. Check out our formula to the left! There are a few factors that affect flex, like deck thickness, wheelbase, and the amount of force on a deck. We built a machine and put our entire lineup to the test by applying the exact same amount of force to all our boards and measured the displacement we saw in each. This gives a totally scientific and accurate flex range across our entire line! It’s important to understand flex when choosing a board. Here are some basics: Downhill/freeride skateboards will have less flex because you need a stiff platform to stand on when you’re bombing or gripping a corner at speed. Carving skateboards will have more flex, giving you the ability to sink into your turns and pump or carve with ease. Most cruisers, dance and ATV boards will have less flex for control when doing tricks but just enough to be forgiving when pushing around town. We’ve engineered our boards with the best flex for each style of riding but remember, flex is subjective so get out a see what you like the most!

Batte Axe

This is one of the best boards i’ve ever had. It’s super smooth over rough roads and goes over rocks like nothing. I love taking it out with my friends and the style and build are top quality

Lots of Fun!

I haven't skateboarded since I was a teenager, but my toddler has a scooter and a skateboard, so I bought this Landyachtz Battle Axe so that I could join her on the asphalt. Of course, it's banged up already, but it's holding up very well. The trucks were smooth from the get-go and remain smooth and solid after a month or two of riding a couple of times a week. The top of the board is very grippy, which is nice because the flex in the board can freak out a new/returning rider at times. It feels great—very responsive, even for a longboard. (I love drop designs, which I wasn't aware of when I was a kid, or I might have kept it up.) The And the art is great—not as obviously colonial or appropriative as on lots of other boards. Oh, and it shipped coast to coast amazingly fast, thanks in part to very prompt processing at Landyachtz. Thanks!

It's pretty cool

Having no real previous experience with boards, I found it pretty easy to start on the Battle Axe. With the larger platform compared to a cruiser, it's easy to get comfortable on it. Also, the board just looks good. The only negative I can think of is that the graphics on the wheel start to peel off after a while.

Great Board All-Round

This board is an excellent one, really reps the top-of-the-line reputation LandYachtz has. I got my first LandYachtz board when I was 13, and having bought this one five years later, I can say little me had some good taste. This board does feel a bit squirrelly out of the box - it'll wanna wobble out from under you, but with some tightening it makes a great carver. Recommended!
