Carla Javier
Portland, Oregon

Originally from the Dominican Republic, Carla is now a resident of the Pacific Northwest where she enjoys a wide variety of skate terrain and lots of beautiful rainy weather (which allows her time to work on her art). She’s been a part of the team for a couple years now and we hope that she will continue to skate and be her awesome self for many years to come <3

“I THOUGHT THE 40” STRATUS WAS GOING TO BE SET AS MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE BOARD, UNTIL THE TONY DANZA CAME ALONG.”

The Landyachtz dance category keeps expanding, so my list of favorite boards just keeps getting longer and longer. The Stratus 46”, Stratus 40”, and my absolute top-of-the-list-favorite *drumroll* the Tony Danza! I get so much enjoyment from skating any of these boards.

When it comes to the Stratus, I gravitate towards the Hollowtech versions. Both the 46” and 40” are fully symmetrical, incredibly light, springy, with highly responsive tails. I also really appreciate the slight wheels flares, I can ride bigger, chunkier wheels without having to worry about wheel-bite. The no-grip center makes pirouettes super easy, and I don’t have to worry about wearing through the soles of my shoes as fast. I love going on cruises on the Stratus 46”, but if I want to get more technical, I’ll hop on the Stratus 40”.

I thought the 40” Stratus was going to be set as my all-time favorite board, until the Tony Danza came along. It’s symmetrical, springy, with snappy-responsive tails, and my favorite thing about it is the width. It’s narrower than the Stratus, so it makes it easier to maneuver and navigate around. It’s become my go-to board for dancing, cruising and freestyle.
